Myth: SEO Specialists are too costly

We hear this excuse a lot and we want to address it. You might have noticed that marketing tactics that you have used in the past are no longer giving you the same results anymore. It is important as a business, to stay flexible and accept that times have changed, and you need to change with them, if you plan on staying in the game.

First, I recommend you look at your marketing budget. How much did that ad cost in the newspaper or the cost of your last direct mail letter? When you add up all those charges, how much real business did you get out of it? Was it worth it? There are many marketing tactics that you use for your business that may not be giving you the ROI they once did. With 85% of people going online to check out products and services, you want to make sure they are clicking into your website.

In this over advertised world that we live in today, we have trained our brains to disregard much of the advertising we see every day. Luckily, people trust search engine results. They depend on search engines like Google or Bing to deliver them the information that most closely matches what they are looking for. These eager people are highly motivated to buy, and are willing to give your business website their undivided attention.
To get that sort of attention, your website needs to rank high in search engine results. The higher you are the more likely it is that people will click into your website. The best way to get a higher ranking is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)! SEO optimizes your site so when people are looking for your specific product or service, search engines will put your website link in the results. SEO also helps you reach your target market; you will not waste your efforts on people who are uninterested and therefore focus on the people who are looking for you, subsequently increasing your ROI.

I know SEO is important, but I am just going to do it myself…

You could try, read a few articles here and there, and optimize your site yourself. But, you will probably not get the results you need and possibly mess up your site in the process. The end result will be a lot time spent for not a lot of results. Remember your time is money, and doing it yourself is not going to be worth it in the long run. It’s more cost effective to have an SEO specialist, who knows what they are doing. They will optimize your site faster and more effectively, and deliver better results.  This will leave you time to focus on what you do best, and in the end, grow your business.
